Originally constructed to span the Trinity River in Arlington, this historic bridge was later relocated to Euless, where it crossed Bear Creek on Main Street. In the 1970s, it was replaced by a modern structure designed for greater traffic capacity. Rather than being dismantled, the bridge was preserved and moved to South Euless Park, where it now stands as a cherished historical landmark.

Golden Gate
The Golden Gate Bridge; one of America's most well-known landmarks. I have seen it twice so far and each time I see it, it does not fail to take my breath away.
Everywhere you look...
There's a heart...
A hand to hold on to.
Everywhere you look...
There's a face of somebody who needs you.
When you're lost out there and your all alone...
A light is waiting to carry you home.
~Full House Themesong
We took a boat tour and actually went under the bridge; that was a great highlight.

Shimmering Reflection
Reflections shimmer in the water adding a touch of magic to all that it captures. These fleeting moments mirrored on the calm abyss distorted as the wind ripples across the surface.

Underneath It All
Walking along the Blackwater River in Milton , FL you cross underneath the US90 Bridge. This is the side that you don’t always see on bridges that cross water, we tend to keep to the top side of those. However I love the perspective it offers, a glimpse of something different.

Fresh Eyes
There are many times in our lives that are wonderful and yet tainted by so many things. Sadly we do not get a chance to do things over, we simply have to move on and know that things happen for a reason. What we forget is that we can do things anew, nothing stops us from taking a fresh look at something or dipping our feet back in the same ocean… things change.
Tower Bridge stands in London, it stands as a symbol for many in the UK, and the world. For me it is one of these places, and I know that someday I will get a chance to make new memories, and remove the taint that exists for me…. To see it with new eyes.

Reaching Out
It is amazing how time flows… it seems like just yesterday we were at the dawn of a new decade, and now the year is nearly half finished. So many things change, and so fast… it never ceases to amaze me. Time to me is like a river, you can’t stop it and occasionally you hit rapids or pick up people on the banks! The Mississippi River is the most important River in the United States, and here it is flowing under the I20 and Old Hwy 80 Bridges in Vicksburg, MS.
Many of you have heard about the Tornado’s that devastated my home state last week. I would like to report that I am well, my city was not affected, however Yazoo City and surrounding areas about 30 miles north were devastated, if you would like to help please visit Here and Here.
We also have another series of storms moving in this week, hopefully nothing as severe as those last week.

Rivers
Rivers are a mysterious part of the landscape; they provide a mode of transportation for man and water to the sea. The Mississippi river is the largest river and North America that provides just this purpose; it connects the American heartland to the sea, and effectively divides the continental United States into Eastern States and Western States.
On some nights, I have found that if you travel to a river… you can sense spirits travelling down with the water. Where they go I am not sure, but I can definitely see why so many ancient cultures revered rivers as paths to the other world.

Bridges
Yes I get all this from looking at a bridge… and it makes me sad to know that this bridge may very well have a short lifespan before it too is destroyed. It stands at the Dallas Zoo in Texas, and it was a wonderful surprise for me to see when I arrive in Dallas. I snapped several photos and was very pleased with the outcome. I am not sure what other people get when they look at a bridge, but I hope that they carry something away with what is presented here, in both word and photo.

My Mississippi
This video is patriotic to say the least. I have spent the last year discovering many things about myself, and I have done so by finding out how beautiful my state really is. Mississippi is not known for being the most beautiful, but people forget what is really there. I personally am very guilty of wanting to escape Mississippi, but I now have a unique admiration for this place, and I truly am glad to be from such a wonderful place.
The images in this video were all taken in 2009 and happen to all be in chronological order, the wonderful Enya “Wild Child.” This Video was inspired by My Dear Friend String ( http://creativealchemy.blogspot.com/2010/01/solstice-to-solstice.html ), and her “Solstice to Solstice” video.

Breathless
I’ve never met anyone that made me feel the way that you do,
These feelings have surprised me and made me realize.
The world has opened her arms and shown me something new,
Something that was already right in front of my eyes.
My heart has never loved quite like this,
It has never fully belonged to anyone until you.
The time that we are forced apart,
It is you that my heart does miss.
I feel we are counted among the few,
The lucky ones that are joined by the heart.
That is if not by our hands, or a kiss.
Sometimes love makes us cross bridges we never knew we were able to cross, sometimes it can drain oceans… and bridge hearts. It is one of the things that we never can fully understand, sometimes we think we have it… and then we are proven terribly wrong, or shown what it really is, usually when we least expect it.

Cusp of Greatness
Today I am on the cusp… The cusp of something grand and wondrous… I am approaching an adventure that evokes emotions inside that I can not explain. I am very hopeful and excited about what could come of this adventure and of the unknown that lies on the other side of this. I am ready to cross into the unknown, and I am not frightened…

Byram Swinging Bridge
Through my life there has been many times where I have realized that as we grow older we are replaced with something new and better. This is one of the most unfair realities of life, and it applies to landmarks and in many cases people. It pains me to see something forgotten and left to the ravages of time, especially when it still has so much to offer.
This photo is of the historic Swinging Bridge in Byram, Mississippi and its newer replacement. The Swinging Bridge was at one time the only crossing across the Pearl River at this location, until the 1980’s when there was an incident involving an 18-Wheeler that damaged the bridge beyond repair for vehicular traffic. However the bridge does bring back memories for many people who remember riding across it and feeling the entire bridge sway beneath them, in fact an adult walking across it can make the bridge move. The bridge itself is unique as in that it was built during the Second World War by German POW’s located at one of the POW camps in the state. It is the only example of a suspension bridge to my knowledge in the state of Mississippi, and if the state/ any government agency were smart they would preserve this historic landmark and repair it to the degree that perhaps a park overlooking the river could be built and the bridge could be enjoyed for many generations to come.

Equality

In 1776 when they said that all “All men are created equal,” they may have only meant “all white land owning men are created equal,” but we as a nation have come a long way… we have seen many people die fighting for their freedom, against us (Civil Rights Movements)… the United States. Some of these people have won their freedom, some are still fighting, but we need to actually realize that we will only truly live up to the standard that we project to the world… and we project to ourselves, when we finally live up to our own standards and truly acknowledge that all people are equal no matter what race, religion, sex, sexual preference, national origin, disability, etc. Only then will we truly be a free nation for all.

The Pursuit of Happiness

This is a view of Rosemary Bridge on Rosemary Road in between Florence and Terry. I figured Black and White was fitting; it gives it a little something extra.

Old Rosemary Bridge

These are the remains of a former bridge that once linked the Hinds County side of Rosemary Road to the Rankin County side. The current bridge is a one-lane ancient relic of a time when cars where big behemoths that they needed their own tracks on the bridge… this leaves me to believe that the bridge that presided the present Rosemary bridge was only strong enough for a horse and carriage. There are a few relics of the old bridge including old pilings, the remains of the railing in the water behind it… and some standing railing just off to the back. It is
surprisingly beautiful to the otherwise pristine Pearl River.
