Finding You

Nearly a year since I've heard your voice; a year to find myself and find you in the process. I see you in everything I do, I see you in the ones we love. I know you are here with us when we need you; I know I can count you among the angels in my life. You are a part of me, this provides me a great comfort knowing that you live within me.  There isn't a day that I do not think of you, the difference is now I smile... because I never really lost you.

When Ya Gotta Go...

Hope

The darkness can be suffocating robbing you of everything that you hold dear.  It can be so dark and despair so overwhelming that it seems that there is no way out.   I lost a friend to this darkness and it is a darkness myself have found myself inside.  A deep dark inky place of tears and hopelessness, but no matter how dark it seems… there is a way out.  No matter how bad things seem, it will always get better.  Things go in a wheel time pushes us along and soon we will stumble from the darkness into the light and wonder why we stayed so long trapped in despair.

You just have to keep hope that you will find out way on the trail to the light.

Keep hope…

Just hope.

the road less traveled

Sometimes you walk the road less traveled. You leave it all behind for no rhyme or reason.  None at all.  

No reason for why you’re drawn away.

Except fate.

Becoming One

Two hearts combine into one,

Find the Color

The world is filling with color, the leaves are turning and the shades of green are slowly being replaced with different hues.   I’m familiar with this cycle, it is one that continues on and on through our lives… and in us as well; we all grow through cycles, some more beautiful than others.

Stand Out

Sometimes it is good to stand out and just let yourself shine.  

Sometimes it is necessary to do this to feel like you are someone.

Because no matter how you feel, you are someone.

And that is why you are beautiful.

So stand out…

And just be yourself!

Memories

When all is said and done, and everyone goes their separate ways we are left with memories.   Photos fade or get lost and details may slip into the creases of our minds never to be found, but it is really all that we have.   We may think of memories as intangible, but they are as tangible as anything else that we have… and we need to hold onto them for they are worth more than all the money on the planet.

Pearl Flag

I personally created this flag when I noticed that the current flag for my hometown is not flown prominently.   I also wanted to design a flag that was deep in symbolism for the city rather than having a generic city flag with the city seal, this way Pearl, Mississippi can have a flag that rivals that of most cities within the state, one that we can all be proud of.   I submitted this for the consideration of the Mayor and the city Council, about a year ago and but have yet to hear anything.  Below is further explanation of the symbolism behind the flag.

The colors of the flag are Pearl’s traditional Blue and Gold.

The Canton is based on the Bonnie Blue flag that was one of the early flags flown in Mississippi when it was part of West Florida.  The Bonnie Blue Flag was also used as the Canton in the Original, “Magnolia Flag,”  that flew over the State of Mississippi until 1894.  Its inclusion is showing that the City of Pearl has a foothold in the history of the state.  The single gold star on the blue field shows that pearl is definitely a golden point within Mississippi’s history, and Pearl will continue to enrich the state.

I chose the non-traditional stripe pattern Alternating blue, gold, and white to differentiate the flag from both the Mississippi State Flag and the National Flag to show that Pearl is a city making its own future; it does however retain 13-Stripes to honor the original 13 colonies of the Untied States.  The striping is also similar to the blue and gold stripes currently in use on Pearl PD police interceptors.   

Things Lost... and forgotten…

We live in a world where nature is warped by man to such a degree, we have genetically modified food and the other food we have is pumped up with such a large amount of preservatives and other chemicals… is it really food any more? Not to mention that many of the species that we eat on a regular basis are clones… we have been eating clones for centuries. Our common banana, our oranges, grapes, all clones from the same basic stock… one disease could wipe them out.

Not only this, but my generation does not know the basics of agriculture… if necessary only a few would know how to plant food and harvest. We do not know how to can vegetables or cure meat for storing in the winter. We have lost the basic knowledge that our ancestors held. In a few generations we have lost the knowledge of the past thousand years. We have allowed ourselves to eat poisons that are in processed foods, and we have grown used to having everything where we can go get it easily… what happens if the world changes suddenly? What happens when the bananas, corn, wheat, and such are killed by a yet unknown disease? What would happen if there was no longer a Wal-Mart to go buy your food? Or clothing? Would we survive? I sincerely fear that most would not, because sadly we have forgotten…

Multiplicity

Each one of us has many sides that we show depending on the situation. We like to think in our minds that we are always the same person, and yet we sometimes miss the reality that we are not. This is not a bad thing, this is usually self preservation at it’s finest…

Happy Holidays!

This is the season that the world is supposed to unite and share and good cheer for one another, so many religions have major celebrations at this time of the year… that it truly is the holiday season. This is the season for giving, for showing others that you care… that you think of them even when they are not right in front of you. This is the time where we share our lives with strangers and donate to the less fortunate, and open our hearts like we never even consider doing other times of the year.

Why is that?

I Challenge Everyone that reads my blog to take the joy and love of the holiday season, and carry it with them throughout the entire year…

Finally

Not Alone

Sometimes when you feel like you are all alone, you are not really that alone, no matter what you are not really alone. Somewhere out there, someone is waiting… for you to enter into their lives. Suddenly the veil is lifted and the loneliness subsides and suddenly you find yourself adrift in a world that is warmer than the world was before.

Time Theory

Have you ever thought about how time moves, and brings us along with it? I think of time as a piece of growing paper, right now we are on the edge of the paper, nothing in front of us… it just grows and makes a path before us as we move forward through time. Everything and everyone that came before us still exists, they go through all their lives just like normal… up until the point that they no longer need time, and after that they move on leaving part of themselves behind that exists where they once did… back in 1988 or 1388 B.C.E., of course living people do the same. Now Einstein said that time travel forward was possible, and that past travel was impossible… I disagree.I believe that the only way we can travel into the future is by traveling close to the speed of light and allowing time dilation to occur, this would in fact give the traveler the sense that they have traveled through time, when all they really did was just wait for time to pass around them. Now travel into the past I believe is possible, and has been done at many points through history, its just that many travelers are smart enough to know that interfering with a timeline would only create a paradox that has already been created. Take the ole “Dead Grandfather” paradox… Ok You go back in time and kill your grandfather before he has a chance to father your dad, therefore giving you no possible way to exist. So how could you have gone back in time and killed your grandfather? OK… Well lets say you wanted to go back in time and kill your grandfather, so you went back… You know what!? Your going to fail, and I can prove that by your existence. So perhaps even though we live on the edge of time, whose to say that were not already re living our lives and part of us hasn’t already moved on? Who’s to say that the edge of time isn’t already at 2063 and some of us are already long dead? And Who’s to say that some of the random people you see on the streets that look at you aren’t really time travelers? Just something to think about…..

Sometimes...

Sometimes we have to do things we do not want to do… sometimes the things we have to do are the right things, but it does not always feel right. It is at these times it is good to have a system of people to support you… I am lucky to have that.

Angels

Angels are mystical, they come into your life and they tend to look just like everyone else. It amazes me that they can even pose as people that you know, and sometimes you are related to.
