POGS!?

 When I was in middle school, Pogs were everywhere. I remember having stacks of them, neatly stored in tubes, and spending hours playing with my friends. I was always on the hunt for the Jurassic Park-themed ones—they were my absolute favorite. I even had a Pog maker, which I used to create my own custom Pogs using images from magazines and comics.  

Recently, during a conversation with some friends, Pogs came up, and it sparked the idea to introduce them to my niece and nephew. It was such a joy to share this nostalgic piece of my childhood with them. Teaching them how to play brought back so many memories, and seeing their excitement made it even more special. It’s amazing how something so simple can bridge generations and create new memories.

Cute!

I love finding cute things in random places.  This mouse adorned the checkout counter of a Boba Shop.  It was too cute to not take a picture of.  Things like this make the day worth out, to go and find something just so adorable. 

Luke

Luke is still learning; he is just 4 months old.  He has brought much joy into our lives.  He makes me laugh so much with his curiosity and he is a good boy.

An Adventure 65 Million Years in the Making

I have always been a collector, sometimes I have to watch my collections so they do not overtake my home and life.   Jurassic Park is one of my favorite franchises and has been since I was eight years old and the movie first hit the screen back in June 1993.   I remember the excitement leading up to it and how the movie trailers on TV just captured my imagination.   I also remember the McDonalds cups being everywhere.  I am lucky to have the full collection, I even managed to get the collection of Burger King Lost World watches in 1997, even having the manager get me the last one out of the display case so that I could have them all.   To many it may seem like useless junk, but to me not only is it a link to my childhood… but I just think it’s cool!

Humour

Well my last post featured Skippy, the globe trotting kangaroo… I guess to be fair it is only right for me to do a post featuring his American cousin Allie, all over the world. It is part of human existence to have serious matters and a sense of humour… it is very important to find a balance between the two. Sometimes we forget this, and the lack of humour leaves us bitter and a bit boring. However the opposite is also true, it takes a talent to find a middle ground and allow both silly and serious to work in harmony.

Skippy

The blue sky frames the Lamar Life Building in downtown Jackson, MS during Skippy’s visit in October. Skippy is a stuffed Kangaroo that hails from Perth Australia, he has visited many countries and spent some time with me last fall. He was a lot of fun, and we had some adventures and took many wonderful photos. He and his cousin Allie are always looking for places to go, adventures to have, and people to meet…

Jurassic Park

I just happened to drive my my grandmothers house today, just as she and my nephew were walking outside to play in the unusually warm spring-like weather. So I stopped and I decided to join them! I will tell you, there is nothing like a 5 year old telling you facts about dinosaurs, and about the way his live their lives! My nephew never ceases to amaze me, so I played along teaching him more about the Majestic Extinct Behemoths that linger collectively in both our imaginations. This Diorama is one that we came up with; the other Dinosaurs are talking amongst themselves as the bigger one sleeps. Clearly the mind of a child is one to take amazement to, because I would have come up with something different!!! Dinner Anyone?
