Brandon Park

Mississippi does not lack in places to visit for scenery, as one of the more rural states in the USA we have many parks and outdoors places to go and spend our days. One of my favourite places to visit and play tennis, or just sit and chat with my friends is Brandon Park in Brandon, Mississippi. It has something for everyone, a large place for children to play, a historical museum, a place to sit and enjoy nature… and an outcropping a Mississippi sandstone with fossils.

Employees Only!

“Employees Only!” That stops most of the world from seeing the inner workings of many of life’s little interesting places. This is one such area, the larger cooler of Monterey Grocery in Rankin County Mississippi, this is one of the types of coolers found throughout America that people go to and open the door to get a cold soft drink, or a beer. I was granted access thanks to the fact that my aunt is an employee, and I have been known to do a little free-lance work for the store in the past. For three days in 2006 I stocked this very cooler, it was fun not to mention that it is owned by one of the kindest person I have ever met.

The Pursuit of Happiness

Sometimes we go through life just expecting things to go the way we want it to… at least until we face something completely unexpected. It is in those moments that we need the most help we can get, some way to get through to the other side of the obstacle in our path. When you come across an obstacle in life, don’t just dive in and try to swim through it, you never know how swift the current may be, chance are if you walk along the bank, you will find your way… It may take longer, but at least you can keep your head above water.

Beautiful Couple

The Ross Barnett Reservoir is a great place to go and relax, and occasionally it can surprise you with beauty. These two trees stand in Lakeshore Park on the Rankin County Side of the Reservoir and provide shade in the summer, and a break from the cool wind like today. Oh and believe me the wind was strong and brisk today creating some wonderfully large waves that sent spray on anyone within a ten foot radius of the shore, it was a really nice albeit a cold experience.
