The 'O'

America is full of many different restaurant chains, and I always had my preferences. I always loved O’Charley’s, the food is pure Americana, and the people always seem to be genuinely friendly. I always wondered why people I have known seemed to love to work for the company. It was not until February 2009 when I found employment with the restaurant that I discovered just how special my O’Charley’s is, we are a family. I always hope that others find a place that is as fun and supportive a place to work, I am lucky to have two wonderful jobs.

Update: Sadly, this location has closed.

Come eat with us sometime!

Mundane

When you look at something you never can quite see it, you must look beyond… look deep into it, only then do you see what it truly is. Most often as we go through our daily lives we glance at things but we never look, we never see the beauty that is inherit in the mundane, that is the downfall of the routine.

This is the main breakroom at my place of work… we have two smaller ones, but this is the larger one with all the goodies. I thought this shot was interesting, and I was the only one in the room at the time, and It just struck me as a beautiful moment.

Some Crazies

I work for tech support for a major corporation in their phone and Internet repair department. I hear some really crazy things, and I write some of these down… just for kicks.

“The Internet is all I have to live for right now!”
(Oh Really! Don’t worry, I don’t have a life either.)

“Honey, I don’t think there is a modem here, I think they are fucking around with my brain, excuse the language.”
(Well isn’t that special!... EVERYONE with our services has a modem!)

“That’s goofy! OH WOW, It works!”
(Oh Wow! I know what I am talking about!)

“You know, people can’t live without internet.”
(Is that why the suicide level jumps when the internet goes out?)

“I have gotten my big computer out of the pawn shop.”
(Interesting… was it next to the big guns?)

“Hello… I’m calling about my phone…. Apparently I don’t have any tones… in my phone.”
(Have some happy pills this morning?)

“We don’t have any high speed in our house today.”
(So everyone is rrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaallllllllllllyyyyyyyy slow?)

“I am an illiterate computer.”
(I believe you!)

“I should unscrew the cable from the outback?”
(Let’s go outback tonight!)

In$anity

When I came back to Jackson, what I needed most in my life was something that was hard to come by, and it took nearly half a year to find… stability. I found a little stability in the Theater, but not enough to ground my life to where I could get back to where I wanted to be. My current job gives me the stability I want to be the person I need to be.

Something inside has changed since I have come back, I look at my job completely different than the ones in my past. Deep down somehow I think I enjoy it. I am not sure if that is a sign that I am going insane or what, but I really don’t always dread going to work. Well… perhaps I am insane, but I must go get ready for work.
