Reunion Tower—affectionately nicknamed "The Ball"—is a defining feature of Dallas’s skyline, setting it apart from cities around the world. I’ve always been fascinated by its iconic presence. After 12 years of living in Dallas, I finally visited for the first time. The panoramic views were absolutely worth it, and seeing the city from that breathtaking vantage point was an experience I’ll never forget.

Neon Blue and Red
When I go on a cruise, I spend hours exploring the stairwells and hallways, searching for art. These two neon pieces adorn the stairwell of Jewel of the Seas.
Some say the art on cruise ships isn’t ‘real’ art. I don’t care if they’re reproductions or considered low value—I find them fascinating. I lose myself in their beauty, and it’s one of my favorite things about cruising. I always look forward to discovering what each new ship has to offer.
A little information regarding the pieces and the artist that created them.

West Florida
There isn’t too much that can be said about this photo, since the photo itself says a lot about Old West Florida. Pearl , Mississippi is a few miles within the historical boundary of West Florida, and I have been a resident of what was once West Florida my entire life. This will not change, as in less than a month, I will be a resident of current west Florida and what was considered the eastern boundary of Old West Florida. I have accepted a new opportunity with my company, with my friends and families blessing… I will soon be relocating.

Wards
I have many traditions that I adhere to; most for no reason other than it is just something that I like to do. One of these traditions is that on my way to the coast, I always stop and eat at the Wards in Hattiesburg . Wards is a small chain of restaurants located in Mississippi . It is an enigma to me, because there isn’t one here in Jackson , the largest city in Mississippi . Wards is famous for its “Big One” a burger with secret sauce and chili, it also is known for its homemade root beer. I think the reason I am so fond of this restaurant, is that it is a Mississippi chain, something we can call ours.

Quiver
Southern Culture is unique at best, and while it is a bit funny; gizzards and Livers do make me quiver, but not in a good way. Granted I tend to avoid any non pre wrapped foodstuffs sold at gas stations, not just things that make me shudder in mild disgust.

Everything Under The Sun
Darby’s is a cute little shop in downtown Natchez , Mississippi . It is one of those places that you can spend hours sorting through the various nick-knacks looking for gifts for EVERYONE you know. Plus right when you walk in you are tempted with fudge that is just like your grandma would make. It is probably the best of the “cutsie” stores that Mississippi has to offer, and with its fudge and location smack dab in historic Natchez … it really is worth a trip down.

Humour
Well my last post featured Skippy, the globe trotting kangaroo… I guess to be fair it is only right for me to do a post featuring his American cousin Allie, all over the world. It is part of human existence to have serious matters and a sense of humour… it is very important to find a balance between the two. Sometimes we forget this, and the lack of humour leaves us bitter and a bit boring. However the opposite is also true, it takes a talent to find a middle ground and allow both silly and serious to work in harmony.

Hometown
No matter where the future takes me, no matter the distant shores I walk… this will always be my hometown. The place where I spent my formative years, the place where memories and bonds were created. I crawled up an over pass in traffic to get this photo, it is a photo I have always wanted to take. It shows Pearson Road in Pearl, Mississippi looking North from the I20 Overpass.

Random Pretty

I love finding beauty in even the most common places, and if you look… it really is not that hard. This is the reverse side of the neon take out sign at Jason’s Deli in Jackson, MS. It is one of my favourite places to eat, as it offers the best salad bar in Jackson. I absolutely love it, as I love this random shot of pop-artish beauty.

The Tomato
I absolutely love tomatoes, and recently my love of tomatoes has been targeted by a salmonella outbreak. It seems that every year a new fruit or vegetable is being found to contain enough salmonella to cause sickness, panic, and massive recalls… not to mention enough bans to cripple farmers. It leads a large amount of the population wondering how exactly this particular bacteria is appearing on fruits and vegetables year after year, it is starting not to look like some freak occurrence. This year the entire food service industry is affected, it really is astonishing how massive some events really are.Thank God for my Garden!!!!!
