Faithful
There is nothing like the love of a faithful companion. Someone that will adore you and see through
all of your faults, someone to be there and cuddle you just when you need it
the most. Nothing like unconditional
love…. Be it feline, canine, or any other variety, our pets offer us something
so precious that it must be cherished.

My Hero...
On Sunday January 6, 2013 I lost my hero. My Grandmother Lalia Louise Hawthorne Wixson
passed from this world. It is a hard
thing to accept, someone that meant so much to me no longer a phone call away…
There are moments where it is almost unbearable.
But then I think of the legacy that she left me.
Every time I look in the mirror, I see her work in
progress. She took me in when I needed
her and she insured that I went to school and had every tool that she was able
to give me to live the best life I possibly can.
And I will.
Every breath I take, every moment… will be in honor of
her.

Casting Crowns
Sometimes we fall and we lose what we thought was so dear
and soon we have to find our way back to a place where we are comfortable. Sometimes we find that what we lost wasn’t so
great and we shrug it off and we rise above it and we find something so much
better.
(About
the Photo: Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz was the wife of King George III of Great Britain and
Ireland and she is who the city of Charlotte, NC was named for. This statue that appears outside
Charlotte-Douglas International Airport (CLT) appears to have her casting away
her crown symbolically as the city itself once cast away its ties to Great Britain
in the American War of Independence. )

Becoming One
Two hearts combine into one,
something that can not be undone.
The beauty that begins,
when two hearts glow with the love within.
Souls intertwine into something more,
a new love that outshines what came before.

Stand Out
Sometimes it is good to stand out and just let yourself shine.
Sometimes it is necessary to do this to feel like you are someone.
Because no matter how you feel, you are someone.
And that is why you are beautiful.
So stand out…
And just be yourself!

Gothic Tone
The Lamar building in downtown is one of the more interesting buildings in downtown Jackson . The gargoyles are what make it unique, and add a gothic feel that most buildings in Jackson lack.

Simplicity
Yes, these are my feet… tucked away in my DC’s surrounded by the leaves that have fallen from the trees. Simplicity is the way to go on occasion, forget the over details that can sometimes take control, and leave us with less than we began with. Simplicity, sometimes can be what we need, just enough… more than most…

Scheme of Things
There are moments where we are suddenly snapped to the realization that we are small in the scheme of things, and no matter how massive we are in our own world… overall it’s not that much. I got this when I saw this couple staring at the barges along the Mississippi River in Vicksburg, MS… The size of the river, and the boats, set against the couple in a loving almost futile embrace of protection against the evils of the world, inspired the above thought.

Monument to the Immigrant
America is a country built from immigrants, and the "Monument to the Immigrant” in New Orleans immortalizes this fact. I know a bit about my history, my ancestors on my fathers side immigrated from England before the American Revolution, my mothers side is a bit more complicated and murky, with native American influences and nationalities that I am uncertain of. Throughout my day I see faces, few of which are native to the North American Continent, and I wonder what tribulations brought their ancestors here, and I wonder the same about mine. What decisions that long ago caused them to want to cross an ocean to a land that was new. Was it the opportunity for a new life, or escaping from some injustice…. I wonder if they found what they were looking for, or if it left them homesick. Either way they were brave people, and need to be remembered.

Bridges
Yes I get all this from looking at a bridge… and it makes me sad to know that this bridge may very well have a short lifespan before it too is destroyed. It stands at the Dallas Zoo in Texas, and it was a wonderful surprise for me to see when I arrive in Dallas. I snapped several photos and was very pleased with the outcome. I am not sure what other people get when they look at a bridge, but I hope that they carry something away with what is presented here, in both word and photo.

Finally
Through my life I’ve spent time searching for something that stood out, something that makes sense of the mess. I have finally found it, and it compares to nothing that has ever graced my life ever. I know that my life will never be the same, and that is ok, and that is the best thing that could happen… Finally Now my destiny can begin Though we will have our differences Something strange and new is happening Finally Now my life doesn't seem so badIt's the best that I've ever had Give my love to him finally

Angels in Waiting
I am blessed to have so many angels in my life.
This particular angel is in Drake Cemetery in Flowood, Mississippi. It is where several members of my family are interred, including John Grant Wixson, my maternal grandfather, and Hattie Coker-Bailey my Maternal Great-Grandmother.

Shattered
O, I look at you knowing that we can never be, For my heart is not ready for yet another tribulation. I need to be mindful of what is safe for me, Not just what makes me feel in a state of jubilation. My heart has grown shielded after breaking, Although you do give me hope. However my love is not yet ready for taking, Because with pain, I don’t think I could cope.24 February, 2008
❤️
This photo is a photoshopped photo I did of my friend Echo holding a leftover Valentine heart at Walgreens in Richland… I felt it very inspirational.
This image was sent as a postcard on Postcrossing.

The Pursuit of Happiness
Sometimes we go through life just expecting things to go the way we want it to… at least until we face something completely unexpected. It is in those moments that we need the most help we can get, some way to get through to the other side of the obstacle in our path. When you come across an obstacle in life, don’t just dive in and try to swim through it, you never know how swift the current may be, chance are if you walk along the bank, you will find your way… It may take longer, but at least you can keep your head above water. This is a view of Rosemary Bridge on Rosemary Road in between Florence and Terry. I figured Black and White was fitting; it gives it a little something extra.
