Breaking Dawn

I never expected this,
to be captured by your eyes.
Not even a little wish,
to cut through the old lies.
All it took was a single smile,
and all my walls fell down.
I thought it would take a while,
before I knew it all was lost,
And I was surely under a spell.
You came in and it’s gone at all cost,
and deeper and deeper I fell.
Before I knew it I was not alone,
and my heart, it was gone.

Magic and Possibility

To see the world through the eyes of a child…
Is to see a world of magic and possibility.

To see the world as an adult…
Is to forever wish to see it through the eyes of a child.

Casting Crowns

Sometimes we fall and we lose what we thought was so dear and soon we have to find our way back to a place where we are comfortable.  Sometimes we find that what we lost wasn’t so great and we shrug it off and we rise above it and we find something so much better.

(About the Photo:  Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz was the wife of King George III of Great Britain and Ireland and she is who the city of Charlotte, NC was named for.   This statue that appears outside Charlotte-Douglas International Airport (CLT) appears to have her casting away her crown symbolically as the city itself once cast away its ties to Great Britain in the American War of Independence. )

Fascination

Machines have always fascinated me.   From the lowly workhorse car to the space shuttle, machines have entered our lives relatively fast and changed our world.  Personally I am one of the most mechanically dysfunctional people on the planet, though I have improved a bit over the years, I am still just bound by fascination and amazement that a hunk of metal placed together in such a way can do so much.
