2018
I first heard this song when i went to Vietnam. I loved the piano and though i do knot know the words I learned to attempt and sing it. Through the many trips to Houston with Doan's Family this song played more than once. It has shown that as he grows more in my life I am embracing a new family and culture as my own.

Aloha
The world is a beautiful place with many sights to
behold. I lived most of my life
surrounded by people that were content to just stay in their little corner and
that was fine for them. I am not one of
those people and I thrived to be around people that were like me. Others seeking adventures in faraway lands
and to seek out new experiences and breathe in what this world has to offer
beyond the comforts of home.

2017
Losing one of my best friends this year has been the defining point of the year. How do you honor someone who changed your life so profoundly? Someone that made you a part of their family? You do so by moving forward, by continuing to grow... and honor them and the others you lost along the way with every moment.

Munzee
I recently discovered a game that I have come to enjoy. Munzee, it is a scavenger hunt with a
twist. I love that it gets me out to see
places I would never consider before.
The object of the game is to locate physical and virtual Munzees and
scan them. The physical ones are QR
codes that you can find in random places like on the back of street signs or
light poles. You do it for points… and
for fun.

Enduring Horizon
(The links in this post all link to relevant previous blog
posts, don’t be afraid to click.)
Ten years, it is amazing to me that I started this blog all
the way back in 2007 when I was searching for a way to define myself. I started with a selfie back in my first post, so I thought it was only fitting that I do the same for the 10th
Anniversary post. All the way back then
I saw people with blogs that showcased their photos of the world around them
and I wanted to do the same… but not. And
that is when my blog started to form into something not as structured… I write
about anything and everything from art to my poetry… sometimes relevant to the photo, sometimes how the photo makes me feel
and sometimes I write nothing at all. The way I see it, people can make what they
want of it.
When I started the blog I called it the Uncertain Horizon. The horizon representing the future and how nothing is certain and yet we still march towards it. Recently though, I changed the name to Enduring Horizon. With the Losses I have seen over the last ten years as well as the blessings. The places I have lived beginning In Mississippi, then Florida, North Carolina, and finally Texas. As well as the places I have visited from the United Kingdom to Vietnam. I have grown to feel that the goal isn’t to march as much as it is to endure. We must take the bad with the blessings as they all enrich our lives.

Pretty Bird
This cute bird joined me last year at the Dallas Arboretum. I’d never had a wild bird come that close and let me take photos. You’d think it thought it was a model, it posed and let me get many shots before I finally let it go on begging others for handouts.

Pink Sky in HKG
My visit to Hong Kong in 2015 was less than 24 hours. I do plan to visit again in the future, it
was an amazing place.
